This was once one of the locals best kept secret! Now its a popular tourist location! On a hot summers day with a decent swell you can sit in the water and the waves splashing making a spa - such unique fun location! One of my favourite memories was sitting in the spa as a wave crashes over the rocks and water creating a bubble bath. So relaxing, so happy.

I was super motivated on this trip to capture Castle Rock and it did not disappoint! I love this photo! The water so beautifully flat and the gentle white wash making for an interesting foreground compared to the magnitude of the castle in the background!
The back story; my friends and I came down to fish during the salmon migration. Waking up at 5am and grabbing the tripod instead of the fishing rod I was able to capture this beauty!

It was raining on my drive down to Canal Rocks and I almost decided to turn the car around and head home. When I arrived it was still raining and leaving my gear in the car I got out and scoped out the scene. Briefly there was a break in the rain running back to the car I grabbed my gear and started setting up. Just as I had finished the sun started to pop out from the clouds and a Lord of the Rings 'The Eye' scene started to appear.

I've lost count as to the number of times I've been here. Snorkelling with friends, beach walks, surfing - this place has it all. (For me I even proposed here! You can see why! It was sooo picturesque!). Ahh Mettam’s pool - popular for so many; families with little kids, the elderly. It has it's own calm ‘pool like’ conditions all year round. Its reefs make it one of the more popular places for snorkelers and outside it gives surfers a reef break too!

I love the shadows and colours of the rocks in the foreground as your eye uses the water as a leading line up the coast. Stopping briefly at the splash of water against the rocks before ending up at Hillarys Boat Harbour faintly in the background.

Everyday without fail there are surfers here at 'the point' here in Trigg. Probably the busiest break in WA, the waves are hotly contested as they break over the reef.
In the foreground we can see the coolness of winter - the rock is covered by moss giving it green feel. The eye is brought in and the edge of the rock leads the eye up to a fisherman before finally ending up at the Rendezvous Hotel Scarborough.

The master painter was hard at work this evening! It really does look like red was literally thrown onto the canvas - absolutely mind blowing!
Also a side story; one of my mates showed this City Beach photo to his old man (who is a painter artist) and he asked if he could attempt to paint it and of course I said yes. A month later he showed me his intpretation - he did a great job!

Would you believe this was taken at sunset?! It was a busy summers evening and the City Beach carpark was absolutely packed! and I'd left it a bit late (the joys of having a newborn) but I was determined to capture the sunset and the fastest way was to capture the aerial way! Perfect!

Ok I know, this is not a photo of the beach... its close though so its ok right?
1/2 down on my trip here I remembered that the forest fire ripped through here about 9 months prior. Not knowing what to expect I continued on the trip. Unsurprisingly the canopies were not as lush but greenery had started to appear.
